Finnish Minerals Group and Beijing Easpring Material Technology are proceeding in establishing a joint venture company for the Kotka CAM plant. Beijing Easpring will own 70 percent of the company, while Finnish Minerals Group will own 30 percent. Beijing Easpring, established in 2001, is one of the world's leading developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Finnish Minerals Group is a state-owned special-purpose company building a responsible mining and battery value chain in Finland.

The initial investment for the Kotka CAM plant is estimated to be approximately 774 million euros, and the production is expected to meet the needs of more than 750,000 fully electric vehicles annually. The plant’s production capacity may be expanded in the future. Once operational, the plant will employ approximately 360 people.
